These solid wood futon frames are designed by Epoch Design exclusively for its retail division Futon Factory. Epoch Design takes the engineering, functionality, and safety of Futon Frames very seriously, and has gone to great lengths to ensure that they are built to last.
Unique Features
- Futon Frame slats made of birch plywood rather than oak or other hardwoods because birch plywood flexes, not snaps, under the stress of large amounts of weight
- Slats placed less than 2" apart to prevent the futon for wedging between the slats, ensuring a more comfortable seating & sleeping surface
- Slats inset into chassis at least 1/2" for quality craftsmanship and superior strength
- Custom Delcron injection molded glyder system with elongated side prevents glyder from sticking to and gouging the tracks on the arms
- Unique glyder system allows the futon to be stably positioned upright, fully extended, or at any point in between
- Angle of the seat & back section joint distributes the weight of the futon evenly throughout the frame, reducing pressure on arms & rails and allowing for easy operation of the futon
We invite anybody to come into any one of our stores and stand on just one slat, on any frame. It will not break.
