Futon Mattresses
Futon Factory only sells futon mattresses manufactured by Epoch Design (Futon Factory’s parent company) in Redmond, Washington. These mattresses utilize
only the finest materials available to ensure the highest quality end product. Our futons range from traditional cotton futons to industry leading synthetic latex
and visco-elastic memory foam compositions. Epoch Design has worked hand in hand over the years with Foamex to develop proprietary cutting edge products while
maintaining the quality and affordability our customers have grown to expect. In addition to our standard line of mattresses Epoch Design has the ability to
manufacture custom size futon mattresses for motorized RV’s. Contrary to misconceptions any one of these futon mattresses can be used on a bed, provided there
are enough slats to give support, or on a futon frame. Hence they are both a futon, as well as a mattress. All mattresses comply with the latest fire standards
contained in Federal Register 16 CFR Part 1633 which was enacted on 07-01-2007. None of our futon mattresses are approved to be used on a mattress
foundation (box spring) of any type. If you do not buy one of our beds or futon frames with our futon mattresses, make sure the one you choose has plenty
of support as ours do. Our compliance is not achieved using chemical additives like some. Rather we wrap each futon mattress in a fiber fire barrier that adds loft and comfort.

Fiber Comfort Wrapped Cotton
This futon mattress most resembles the traditional oriental cotton futon mattresses. The largest difference is the overall thickness and the fiber comfort wrap
around the entire futon mattress. We only use 100% cotton in all of our mattresses. The cotton will become firm over time and is recommended for use on highly
supported futon or bed frames with adequate ventilation.

Double Foam
This futon mattress is very similar to the one listed above. However, two layers of 1.2 lb foam are added, one under the top and the other just
above the bottom layer of cotton for additional loft, softness, and continuity. This futon mattress will become fairly firm over time. Because of the
added foam, it may be used on some lower end futon frames that are less supportive and you will not be able to feel the frame underneath you (within reason).
Both the double foam and cotton futon mattresses should be flipped and rotated at least weekly to ensure equal depression and wear. Depressions are normal in these types of mattresses.

Deluxe Innerspring (AVAILABLE ONLINE SOON)
The innerspring futon mattress is nothing like a traditional futon. For many years this was considered the
“Cadillac” of the futon mattress category. This is the ultimate multipurpose mattress and many people gravitate towards this futon
mattress because of its great feel, lack of maintenance and versatility as both a couch and bed. Our innersprings utilize a 312 coil count 4.5"
thick core that is manufactured from 13.5 gauge steel. This core is then covered by heavy insulation pads, 1.2 lb foam, and cotton. Then the entire
futon mattress is covered with a fiber comfort wrap. You will never feel the coils; in fact you feel as though you are floating on a cloud. This futon mattress
does not need to be flipped and/or rotated very often. Permanent indentations are nearly non-existent in this futon mattress.

High Density Foam Core
This futon mattress has a plush feel to it, yet solid at the same time. The secret here is a 3" 1.8 lb foam core that is encased
within multiple layers of cotton all encased in our fiber comfort wrap. The simple fact that this mattress has high quality foam in the
center ensures that it will last for a very long time. These appeal to those who are looking for the traditional futon feel as well as
those seeking high-end comfort. This futon mattress will still develop divots as a traditional cotton futon will, but it will maintain
a thick loft for many years. As with the other futon mattresses containing a large mass of cotton, this futon mattress should be flipped
and rotated regularly to ensure equal depression and wear.

Seaton (AVAILABLE ONLINE SOON)
This is the newest of the light weight, one sided “no flip” futon mattresses. It may be the best choice of all for those searching
for both a plush couch and sleeping surface. This futon mattress is in no way related with the traditional futon mattresses. Manufactured from
two types of foam bonded together, this has rapidly become almost as popular as the innerspring. The top 2.5" layer of this mattress is composed
of very soft 1.5 lb foam. The supporting 4.5" layer of 1.55 lb foam is much firmer. These Foamex foams are known for their longevity and comfort.
The entire futon mattress is wrapped in a fiber comfort wrap. The underside of the Seaton futon mattress has specifically located slices in the
foam that allow it to easily convert from bed to couch. This combination is arguably one of the best all around comfort and long lasting futon mattresses available today.

Bosston
The Bosston futon mattress features a 3 " layer the “Sensus” 5 lb visco elastic foam from Foamex on top. This is among the
highest quality memory foams on the market. The next 2" layer down is a medium soft 2.5 lb layer of premium foam. The base layer is 2" of firmer 2.5 lb
premium foam that has slices enabling it to sit in a couch position or lie down as a bed. Again, the entire futon mattress is covered in a fiber comfort wrap.
If you are searching for the quality of other nationally recognized memory foam mattresses for a fraction of the cost the Bosston is the answer. As with our
other foam mattress the Bosston is a one sided.
